The story of this domain
campessentials.com.au previously hosted a different camping blog, with gear round-ups, checklists and campsite reviews. That site stopped operating, and the domain was relaunched in 2026 as an independent camping guide. Every page has been written from scratch. We are not connected with the previous operator of this domain, and we do not sell gear, take bookings or run campgrounds.

How we research
We base our guides on official sources, especially the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, the Queensland Government's camping safety and food safety pages, the Queensland Fire Department, Resources Safety and Health Queensland and Seqwater, plus reputable reference works on how gear is made and rated. Each guide lists its sources and the date it was last updated. We do not invent statistics, prices, test results or quotes, and we do not publish product rankings based on testing we have not done. Rules, fire bans and closures change often, so we point you to the official page rather than repeating details that may go out of date.
How we are funded
Nobody can pay to change our guides. Some pages may carry clearly labelled affiliate links for gear, tours or accommodation, or labelled sponsored placements. Our editorial policy explains how we make money.
